Steven Phoenix is a New York City-based multi-genre music producer, songwriter, and recording artist operating under the moniker SPHNX!. His work exists at the intersection of high-concept storytelling and visceral, dance-floor energy—a duality that defines both his sound and his professional mission.

The Vision: The SPACER Project

As the founder of The SPACER Project (The Sonic Phoenix Artist Collective Encompassing Records, Licensing & Publishing), Steven Phoenix has built a "By Artists, for Artists" ecosystem. Beyond serving Artists as a Record Label; it’s a multifaceted hub providing A La Carte solutions including: distribution management, publishing administration, metadata management, Royalty Auditing, an innovative sync licensing brokerage, and a community space where creatives can connect with each other to offer/request collaboration, advice, assistance, critiques, etc. to one another from within their Artist Profiles or on the Sonic Phoenix Community News Board "The SPACE".

Central to this vision is The Sonic Phoenix Artists Vault—a curated gallery where scouts for film, TV, and global brands can discover "works-for-hire" and "earworm" jingles. Behind the production, Steven Phoenix is a psychonaut by nature and a keen observer of the human condition (currently being held hostage by an emotionally demanding, diabolically cute French Bulldog named Gunther).

The moniker SPHNX! is a conceptual framework rooted in the myth of the Sphinx. To Steven Phoenix, "Song Lyrics are Riddles"—sonic puzzles that, when solved or felt, grant the listener permission to pass through their own emotional blockages. These melodies are designed to awaken answers and facilitate healing, a process baked into the music from Steven Phoenix’s own 30-year evolution as a songwriter.

The SPHNX! musical entity operates with a collaborative heartbeat. Much like Mick Fleetwood anchored the various legendary voices of Fleetwood Mac, Steven Phoenix serves as the architect of the sound, recording the tracks that fit his own vocal character while inviting a curated lineup of "Sirens" to take the lead when a song demands their unique energetic and narrative shaping. These muses and friends bring his channeled stories to life, ensuring that whether Steven Phoenix is behind the microphone or directing from the board, the vision remains unified.
